McDonald’s officially launched its first McCafe in Kota Damansara on 3rd July 2012.
When I was in Phuket last year, I’ve seen a McCafe at Jung Ceylon’s McDonald’s and I thought it’s something special that our Malaysian shore would not have it anytime in the near future because Malaysia is famous for its slow development in most things.
Well I was wrong because here comes the McCafe. The McCafe concept originated in Melbourne, Australia where McDonald’s created its first cafe inside an existing restaurant in 1993.
The McCafe counter is a separate counter from the normal counter. This counter is currently operates from 7am-12-midnight daily.
After this, we will see 10 more McDonald’s restaurants be fitted with McCafe counters by end of 2012 and another 50 new outlets slated for 2013!
So fret not if you are not staying nearby Kota Damansara.
McCafe offers an extensive menu of premium quality beverages such as cappuccino, latte macchiato, espresso, hot chocolate, and frappe together with a selection of pastries, cakes, and muffins.
Beverages range from RM4.50 for a latte or cappuccino and RM6.20 for a frappe. It’s quite a good deal for its premium quality as compared to other premium coffee outlets.
Pastries range from RM5.50 for brownies and RM9.90 for a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake.
Premium 100% Arabica coffee beans grown in the hills of Central and South America were used to maintain the consistent quality in every cup of coffee.
Baristas are professionally trained to serve the best to the customers. So you won’t be seeing other normal staff manning the McCafe counter because it’s somewhat out of their expertise.
Whole milk is used in McCafe’s coffee so if you have lactose intolerance problem, try to avoid it or reduce the amount. Soy milk is currently not available yet.
Here’s a good cup of McCafe cappuccino.
If you order the breakfast set you can opt to change your cup of coffee to the premium coffee available at the McCafe counter.
Here’s my Iced Mocha Frappe with a slice or Marble Cheesecake. If I’m around Kota Damansara I would definitely come for its coffee.
